Core PCE Price Index

Definition

This report details the average price increases for all domestic personal consumption items over a period of time. It is similar to the PCE Price Index but excludes some categories. It is a useful economic indicator for use in forex trading, but is typically thought to carry less weight than other indexes.

FX Trading Importance

Because it does not include food and energy prices, the Core PCE Price Index is considered by many forex brokers and traders to be less volatile than the normal PCE.
